Welcome to the final week before winter break. On Wednesday grades will be submitted and Progress reports will be distributed on Friday. Checking Parent Portal (linked in my resources tab) is the best way to get real time updates of your student's grades. Below you will find information that includes important announcements and brief overviews of the week ahead.
Social Studies 5th This week students will analyze four historical sources to build a more textured understanding of both the causes and historical context of the Salem Witch Trials. SS.IS.5.3-5. Develop claims using evidence from multiple sources to answer essential questions. SS.IS.6.3-5. Construct and critique arguments and explanations using reasoning, examples, and details from multiple sources. Social Studies 6th This week students research process for the Chicago Metro History Fair. SS.IS.2.6-8. Ask essential and focusing questions that will lead to independent research. SS.IS.5.6-8.MC. Develop claims and counterclaims while pointing out the strengths and limitations of both.SS.IS.6.6-8.MC. Present arguments and explanations that would appeal to audiences and venues outside the classroom using a variety of media. Science 315 Students will work in groups to present their bacteria projects. The planet’s systems interact over scales that range from microscopic to global in size, and they operate over fractions of a second to billions of years. These interactions have shaped Earth’s history and will determine its future. (MS-ESS2-2) Complex and microscopic structures and systems can be visualized, modeled, and used to describe how their function depends on the relationships among its parts, therefore complex natural structures/systems can be analyzed to determine how they function. (MS-LS1-2) Order your loved ones a Ray t-shirt, hoodie and/or car magnet to show your Ray School pride! All sizes - both youth and adult - are now available. Ask essential and focusing questions that will lead to independent research. SS.IS.5.6-8.MC. Develop claims and counterclaims while pointing out the strengths and limitations of both.SS.IS.6.6-8.MC.
