Monday- Study Guide Tuesday- No Homework Wednesday- Home links 2-1 Thursday- Home links 2-2 ***Home links books are to remain at home. Students will rip out their nightly homework and bring it to school on the day that is is due.*** Social Studies We will begin our social emotional learning curriculum called Second Step! This week's topic is empathy and respect. Students will also learn about important Hispanic Americans in celebration of Hispanic Heritage month. On Fridays we study current events.

Homework
Reading This week's reading log's will be given to students Monday 9/16 and will be due Friday 9/20. Students are expected to read for 30-45 minutes every night. Math Students will study volume. Monday- Home links 1-5 Tuesday- Home links 1-6 Wednesday- Home links 1-7 Thursday- Home links 1-8 ***Home links books are to remain at home. Students will rip out their nightly homework and bring it to school on the day that is is due.*** Social Studies We will be celebrating Constitution Day by learning about the United States Constitution and creating our class Constitution! On Fridays we study current events.
Homework Reading Students are expected to read between 30-45 minutes nightly. A reading log will be sent home 9/9, completed this week, and due Friday 9/13/19. Math Students will review area concepts, and find the area of rectangles with fractional lengths. I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable summer. I am so excited for this new school year, and to be your teacher. I am sure that your experiences in 5th grade will be a year filled with learning, memorable experiences, and fun! This week we will spend a lot of time going over school-wide/classroom procedures and expectations. At the beginning of each week I will post a weekly overview of what we will be doing in Reader’s Workshop and Math on this blog, as well as weekly homework assignments.
