Reading This week's reading log's will be given to students Monday 10/1 and will be due Friday 10/5. Students are expected to read for 30-45 minutes every night. Students will complete an activity related to their reading each night. Math Students will study for and take the Unit 1 exam. Students will also begin studying place value and powers of 10. Monday- Study Guide Tuesday- Study for the exam (Khan Academy, if able) Wednesday- None Thursday- Home links 2-1 ***Home links books are to remain at home. Students will rip out their nightly homework and bring it to school on the day that is is due.*** Social Studies We will be completing a Second Step lesson about listening with attention. Students will also learn about important Hispanic Americans in celebration of Hispanic Heritage month. On Fridays we study current events. .

Greetings 5th grade families, I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable summer. I am so excited for this new school year, and to be your teacher. I am sure that your experiences in 5th grade will be a year filled with learning, memorable experiences, and fun! This week we will spend a lot of time going over school-wide/classroom procedures and expectations. At the beginning of each week I will post a weekly overview of what we will be doing in Reader’s Workshop and Math on this blog, as well as weekly homework assignments.
