Hello families,
CPS has determined that we will start remote learning on April 13. More details on the structure and expectations will be forthcoming. This remote learning will be technology based and I know that will be a challenge for many. Our administration has asked us to reach out and inquire how we can help to get all students set up with technology. If you do not have access to a computer/chromebook please let me know in a direct message. I will pass this information to our administration who will help to facilitate technology distribution. Additionally, I have posted new reading and math assignments. Today is the due date four our American Revolution song/rap/poem assignment. I have been posting "this day in history" posts on week days. they can be good conversation starters for your family. Please reach out if you have any questions, or want to share photos of the learning that is taking place in your house! Wishing you health and safety, Ms. Erickson

Hi Families,
I hope you all are staying safe and healthy. I miss room 315 very much and have enjoyed interacting with the students on google classroom. If possible, please have students check their email and our classrooms daily. I post activities and assignments for them on that platform. In reading class 315 works together to perform dramas from our monthly Scholastic SCOPE magazine. I posted a digital copy of this month's SCOPE drama on google classroom for your student to view. This may be a fun way to practice reading and perform together as a family. If you are able to do this, snap a picture and send it via DOJO. On Monday I will share photos on our google classroom page. I would like to wish Eliot S. an early Happy Birthday! Thanks again to all of you that are working in the healthcare field and other essential professions. You are deeply appreciated! In solidarity, Ms. Erickson Hi families,
As some of you may know, I have been petitioned by the class to share"this day in history" in our Team 315 Google Classroom. You can check in with your student for each weekday's historical fact. I have been posting some assignments, questions and conversation starters. It has felt good to connect as a class community. I am keeping you all in my thoughts, and looking forward to the day what our class will be together again. Feel free to reach out tome with any questions, comments, or suggestions. Thank you to those of you that are working in the healthcare field and other essential professions. In *socially distanced* solidarity, Ms. Erickson Families,
It is my greatest hope that everyone in the 315, and 5th grade family stays safe and healthy in this time of uncertainty. I will be providing academic assistance while we are away from the school building. Learning will not stop! Google Classroom (app available) Team 315 :) I have invited students from 315 into a google classroom called "Team 315 :) ". Students were invited from an email sent to their CPS emails. They will need to click on the email and select the blue "join" button within the email. Within the "Team 315 :) " classroom I have posted a number of resources. Students will see links to EPIC books, Scholastic SCOPE, reading assignments, the weekly reading log, and a packet from CPS with 5th grade enrichment work. I will also post class questions to keep our classroom community communicating during this time away from Ray. Other items will shared over time and students will get a notification email each time I upload something new. All 5th Social Studies :) I have invited students from all 5th grade classes into a google classroom called "All 5th Social Studies :)". Students were invited from an email sent to their CPS emails. They will need to click on the email and select the blue "join" button within the email. In "All 5th Social Studies :)" I have added links to the daily news video called CNN10, a reading about the American Revolution, a project and rubric relating to the American Revolution, and links to various American Revolution parody videos. For the project, students will be creating their own song/rap/poem about the Revolution. More details can be found in Google Classroom. Khan Academy (app available) Students in 315 have Khan Academy accounts that we use daily in class. I have entered NWEA scores into khanacademy.org/mappers for targeted practice. I will also be assigning math problems and videos over the two weeks that we are out of the classroom. I will be available every day from 8:45am-3:45pm via ClassDojo and email but students are welcome to work wherever it fits for your family. Please let me know if technology will be a challenge. Thank you so much for your patience and teamwork during this difficult time. In solidarity, Ms. Erickson
