Reading This week's reading log's will be given to students Tuesday 5/28 and will be due Monday 6/4. Students are expected to read for 30 minutes every night. Students will write an analysis of a character from their book. Math Students will calculate how long it would take to earn $1,000,000 at different hourly wages. Students will also calculate how long it would take to pay off the national debt, and convert measurement units and perform operations with multidigit whole numbers and decimals to solve time and distance problems. Students will write a summary about their reading that evening. Math Students will apply their understanding of rectangular areas to find areas of nonrectangular shapes, apply length, area, and volume to plan a home aquarium. PTO Meeting - Family Cooking Night We're devoting our last meeting of the year to cooking! On Tuesday May 22nd at 5:30 pm, families will get to experience Ray School's Pilot Light food education program by preparing a meal together. We will be working together to make ingredients that can be used for Banh Mi sandwiches, a rice dish or a green salad. Seats are limited so please sign up soon! Students will begin unit 8 and make conversions to find surface areas in square feet. Students will also find areas of nonrectangular shapes.
